Why are the people who don't support the LGBT community treated like super evil and cruel beings? People can have different opinions and thoughts on things.

But you don't get to decide that an entire segment of people shouldn't have rights, or they shouldn't be respected as people. That's not a difference of opinion, that's bigotry.

You can have an opinion on gay sex. “I love gay sex” vs “gay sex is not for me.” That's cool. If you don't like gay sex, don't have gay sex.

Sorry, but we don't get to have differing opinions on who counts as a human being, or who gets to have rights.

From an axiology/value theory point of view, how can one say that a diverse society is better than a uniform one, especially given the negative effects of diversity (racism, sectarian conflict, problems arising from extreme cultural relativism)?

If you don't want to be treated like a bigot for holding bigoted opinions, then stop being a bigot. It's really not that hard.
